The carbon cycle
The carbon cycle is presented in detail in this video. The presenter discusses the carbon stored by living organisms. Seasonal variations in atmospheric CO2 concentrations demonstrate that carbon in vegetation and in the atmosphere behaves like water in communicating vessels. Recent changes (since 1850) in the carbon cycle are then explained: combustion of fossil fuels, land use change, continental carbon flows, and ocean carbon flows, before quantifying all these flows and addressing the issue of carbon stocks on Earth.
Removing CO2 from the atmosphere to save the climate ?
This video, which follows on from the presentation on the carbon cycle, focuses on the removal of atmospheric carbon dioxide, a key issue in the fight against climate change. It presents different techniques for removing CO2, and the limitations and impacts of the many methods being considered.
